Great excuse to finally start my blog (since I've had writters block for the last two years)! A 2-month trip to the Netherlands!
My University sent me here, so I'm here to work-study, which is pretty cool, actually. I had the opportunity to choose from Brazil, Germany, Boston, and Holland. Since I was told by Dr. Leo Baas that Erasmus University has a more social approach to the sustainable development issue, I chose Holland. I love my Sustainable Development program, but I really don't give a damn about production systems, thank you very much! I want something more human to work with.
The best part of all is that the most part of the trip is paid by my scholarship program (AWESOME!), so very little comes out of my pocket (or my parents', should I say).
My job here is to interview people that have an important role on creating sustainable development solutions, and then write an article or essay about it. Neat, huh? It's awesome considering my journalist background and how nice that is going to look on my resume.
I also have to attend clases, but not at Erasmus Univesrity (EUR), but at Delft University (DTU), since that is where my tutor teaches. I'll be attending the Social Systems - Policy Management class. Sounds lovely!
In a nutshell, that's why I am currently in Rotterdam.
